There have been 55,166 motorcycle-related deaths in the last decade, a new study from Forbes said, but some cities claim a higher percentage of those fatalities than others.
Boston was named the ninth out of 10 cities with the best track records for motorcycle safety, with 6.53 motorcycle fatalities per 100,00 residents in the last decade.
The Lone Star State claimed the top two spots in the ranking, with Frisco, Texas at number one and Laredo, Texas at number two. Trailing just behind them was New York City, getting the number three spot.
On the other side of the spectrum are Tampa, Florida, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Louisville, Kentucky, which claim the first through third spots for most motorcycle accident deaths per 100,000 residents over the past decade.
Forbes reviewed data collected in 2011 and 2021 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration across the 100 largest cities by population to determine how incidents of motorcycle accidents changed over time.
